Introduction
Hello - I am at a time of life where I am available to be the brilliant house and pet sitter you are looking for. I am a single professional, self-employed Australian with two independent adult sons. With few family demands, I no longer need to be based in one location. I enjoy the freedom that house sitting offers where I can be a devoted animal lover to other people's pets while enjoying your location & community. Being agile and moving to different cities is a lifestyle choice and it suits my Internet based (webinars and emails, not heavy downloads) work very well and as I have lived in all of Australia's capitals, several regional cities & various countries overseas all my working life. I am very much at home wherever I am.

I will consider any sit with a preference for long house sits (1-12+ months). I am open to being in any location, city or region…here are some of my favourites: NZ, NYC, Spain, Malta, Portugal, Central America, NZ, most countries in Europe, North America and some Asian locations.
I am self employed as a facilitator, business growth specialist and mentor to digital entrepreneurs. I conduct my work 'virtually' via the Internet across multiple platforms. This means I can work anywhere as long as I have fast, reliable Internet & mobile phone reception. Both are critical requirements for me to sit for you. I always try to meet you in person where possible and virtually in all other cases. It's paramount for you and for me that we understand and respect expectations of one another and that your home and pets have the care you are entitled to.

I promise warmth, openness, transparency and genuine care of your pet family and your home. My 'home based' work allows me to offer a strong presence & companionship for your home & pets. I have been an Australian Army Officer with a top secret positive vet security clearance (21yr), consultant to most Australian Commonwealth Govt departments and 3yrs as deputy chair and director Crime Stoppers & National Trust boards. I'm presently an 'Angel' with the Pyjama Angel Foundation. I pride myself on maintaining high integrity, sound judgement, balance, reliability and being a proactive communicator. I'm also very loving and gentle with animals. You can depend on me to keep you informed and to make decisions about your pets and home with your priorities in mind. I am comfortable with all types of animals and those with special needs. I will reach out to people in your immediate community network, as advised by you, if needed. I've been a home owner for 30+yr, an animal lover for life and I know the value of a quality house sitter. I've had the joy of 6yrs experience as a host to my own exceptional house sitter, so I fully understand and respect the responsibility that comes with this position.

My aim is to give you absolute peace-of-mind while you are absent while having a cost effective home solution for myself (living as a 'local'!) in a new environment. Wherever possible, if I am in your city, I will always try to meet with you and your pets in advance of the sit so we know that 'everyone' is comfortable. As a self-confessed nervous dog mum, I was incredibly anxious about leaving my two small dogs for a whole month. They’re my babies, and one of them has developed reactivity, which has made our lives quite challenging. I honestly thought no one would ever understand or handle them the way I do. When I first read Lisa’s resume, I was truly impressed by her experience and professionalism. After discussing with my partner, we decided to trust her, though I’ll admit I still had my fears. The moment Lisa arrived at our home, my worries began to melt away. She exuded calmness, kindness, and gentleness, and even though my dogs barked at her like crazy at first, it wasn’t long before they were sniffing her and clearly recognising her as a good person. I knew right then and there she was the one for my fur babies. Throughout our trip, Lisa kept us updated with photos and videos, and her regular communication allowed me to relax and truly enjoy my time away. I never had to second-guess how my dogs were doing because I could see how much love, care, and attention they were receiving. Lisa went above and beyond—taking them out twice a day, playing with them, giving them endless cuddles, and truly connecting with them. By the time I returned, it was clear they had become very attached to her, and honestly, I don’t blame them! On top of her incredible care for my dogs, Lisa left my house spotless and organised, which was such a lovely surprise after being away for so long. I cannot recommend Lisa enough. She is one of a kind, and her professionalism, warmth, and love for animals shine through in everything she does. If you’re a nervous dog mum like me, trust me when I say your fur babies will be in the best hands with Lisa!

Lisa has looked after our house and our dog Scout for two extended periods, 9 months in 2022/2023 and another 6 months in 2023. We would love to have Lisa house sit again but she is taking a break and travelling herself in 2024. Lisa’s has had a strong commitment to ensuring that Scout's care and security were always paramount (eg always with her, home cooking, daily medications & monthly vet visits, daily walks am and pm), as well as caring for our home and car. This commitment has been paramount at all times. Lisa developed a strong connection and willingness to communicate with our community and neighbours and to manage all updates as needed eg liaison with our builder for construction of a new deck and to contact other people and family/ friends as needed. Lisa negotiated with our family and friends to care for Scout for periods from a few days to several weeks so that she could attend conferences connected to her home based business. She appreciated the willingness of others to take Scout as he is very easy going. Lisa kept us up to date with regular emails/ texts, videos and voice messages without being our feeling this was a burden. Lisa kept accurate records and receipts of Scout’s expenses for reimbursement. Lisa showed willingness and flexibility to respond to our requirements and updates. Lisa's aim is to give her hosts absolute peace of mind that their home and pets are cared for and their privacy and security is protected so they can travel without worry. We have great faith in Lisa and have great respect for her capabilities. Lisa is highly recommended.

Lisa looked after our house and our 12 year old large dog over 9 months from May 2022 to January 2023 while we were overseas. We are very happy that Lisa will return again in May 2023 for another 6 month house sit. Lisa works from home and so our dog Scout, a 12 year old husky cross, was very happy to have her complete attention. Since we returned home, many of our neighbours have commented on how well Lisa looked after Scout and how well she fitted into our small community. Scout will be very happy to see Lisa return. Obviously, having someone you don't know live in your house for such an extended period has its risks, but we are very happy that we took the chance after reading Lisa's references and speaking to one of her referees. Lisa is very organised and has an extensive document that we completed and which forms the basis of the relationship. We are happy to recommend Lisa and as long as we still have Scout we will continue to welcome her as our house and dog sitter.

Lisa is an amazing sitter. Our cat can be a bit stand-offish however Lisa quickly became a favourite and was on the receiving end of some rare cuddles. It’s a shame Lisa is so much in demand which makes securing her difficult - but definitely worth-it.

As first timers using a house sitter we were so happy to have chosen Lisa. Initially being impressed with her profile description and references we were pleased to have this backed up with Lisa’s friendly and professional manner during a Skype meeting. Lisa’s proforma document was a well thought out prompt to outline the needs and expectations for both parties. We had such peace of mind whilst away knowing our home and fur babies were in good hands and we absolutely loved the pics/videos sent as updates. On arriving home we were delighted to find a beautiful gift and the home shining clean. Our pets were relaxed and happy (instead of being stressed from a stay in a cattery). There was even food/groceries waiting for us so we didn’t have to go to the shops immediately. We now find ourselves eager to have another holiday just so we can book Lisa to stay!

Lisa Norman looked after our house and three cats for a week. I cannot stress how highly impressed we were with her care and professionalism. Not only were our cats looked after as we would ourselves but the house was left in a spotless condition. Lisa had even taken the trouble to wash and fold linen, left supplies in the fridge and flowers on the table. It was an added pleasure to come home. We cannot recommend Lisa high enough and give her 10/10. We look forward to her again taking care of our home in the future for the peace of mind she is able to bring.

Lisa is amazing. If anyone out there is thinking about using Lisas services to look after their pets please do not hesitate. Elain and myself are always nervous leaving our 2 beautiful girls Rose and Duchess when we go away. Its always tough getting someone you trust totally and be able to treat your animals as we would with total love and care Look no further your troubles are over Lisa is the answer. She's great shes totally trust worthy and she will look after your pets as if they were hers. To us she was an angel sent to us and we are so appreciative for that.

One of my greatest concerns about travelling has been what do we do with our much loved pooch. We adopted him from an animal shelter (don't buy, adopt it will change your life), and the thought of putting him back in one while we're off enjoying ourselves was unthinkable. But not anymore. Lisa sat for us recently for 6 weeks while we went to the UK visiting family. She came and met with us first and stayed with us for a night before we left to get to know our dogs routine, and then she took it from there. He didn't miss us at all - which was a good thing. She took such great care of him, and the house, which while a secondary consideration for me was important of course. I'm really glad I found Happy House Sitters and met Lisa. I now feel we can have a holiday, relax and enjoy it knowing that when we cant take him with us our pooch will be well taken care of. I wouldn't hesitate to ask Lisa to sit for us again and can confidently recommend her to you.

Lisa looked after my 2 cats and house for just under 3 weeks in March 2016. The cats were well looked after and the house was in good condition on my return.
