I have a German Shorthaired Pointer, 7 years old that will need sitting whilst I'm away on holiday. He requires 2 medium walks a day, on leash but otherwise will sleep. I usually walk him around the area, along the river or Botanical Gardens. I do allow him off leash however, would prefer you do not take him off leash due to his strong hunting instinct. He can also be a bit funny with large male dogs due to having a few not like him when he was a puppy so on leash is always best. He's a velcro dog so always wanting to be next to you (or on you), loves cuddles and lots of attention. He's fine at home by himself (as long as you walk him before and leave him a treat) for about to about 4 or 5 hours if you need to work or run errands. I usually take him most places with me on the weekends, breakfast, brunch, shopping. If I need to go out at night, as long as he's had his walk he'll sleep and wait for you to come home. I usually leave the lamp on for him and telly. Don't worry if he jumps into the bed for snuggles, he's a great snuggle buddy otherwise if you prefer, he will sleep in his own bed. He's very well trained and will listen to everything you say. He can pull on the leash a little when walking but that's just him being excited. I live with a housemate however, she works during the days and away some nights so unable to rely on her to assist. I live in a large 2 bedroom house in Armadale with a big backyard. I'm across from a train station and trams either side. There's lots of cafe's, coffee shops, supermarkets bars and retail.
