Our 1920’s cottage in Ethelton is only short distance from the beach, nestled between Semaphore and Port Adelaide in Adelaide’s West. Our home is a bit like the tardis, small from the street, but sitting on an old quarter acre block its street scape is deceptive. A lovely outdoor area with deck, garden and a pool. The menagerie consists of a fishpond of goldfish, jaws 1-10 + Fat Louie! Two sulphuric crested cockatoos, Henry & Walker. Three Isa Brown chickens, K, F & C. Two fur babies, Teddy I’m Cute & I Know It the 6yo Cavoodle and Cooper aka the 10yo Ewok Maltese ShitZhu. My father’s dog, Benji, a 13yo Pugelier, will also be camping out with the crew. Phew!! We are off on a family holiday with my 85yo dad in tow to visit my brother and family in Vietnam for my niece’s 18th birthday. Normally someone is left behind to animal sit, but everyone decided they were joining hubby and I this time. Most of the garden is irrigated, just a few pots that need hand watering. Eggs collected each morning from K, F & C which you are more than welcome to use to cook up an Omlette, Quiche or Pavlova, yum! Lots of tomatoes and basil to pick and add for a gourmet scrambled breakfast. Dogs get fed breakfast and dinner, Benji has some medication to take. Fish easy to feed, just throw in the flakes. Check on the birdseed and top up for the cockies and chickens, same with their water. While Teddy and Cooper love a walk, poor old Benji is not up for it.
