Hi we are going overseas for 2 months to get married and unfortunately cannot take our beloved mini dachshund Abby with us. Our main priority is Abby being looked after with the house coming second ?? usually one of our friends will stay with her while we are away but they are all coming to the wedding so we need to look at a different option for the first time. We live in a newly build one level house in the beautiful and quiet Silverdale which has the Warragamba dam right behind us and lots of options of day trips to the Blue mountains ect all around. We would need somebody very caring to take care of Abby as she does now have special needs after having back surgery twice and has learned to rewalk but has not regained full use of her bladder so she does require nappies and medication twice a day. The nappies are mainly for our sanity and to keep the floors clean as she cannot control when she urinates. The right person would also have to love cuddles as all Abby wants to do all day long is cuddle on the lounge or in the sun. We have all the modern amenities like WiFi, Foxtel, streaming stations, bbq, washer, dryer and a lovely local swimming pool around the corner with the nearest large shopping town 15 minutes away in Penrith. There are local shops, pubs and restaurants. They are finishing off our newly built shopping complex 2 minutes away which hopefully should be open by the time we leave in May also. We have a nice backyard with patio and grass and some grass out the front too that we would appreciate some light mowing but that is not a huge concern for us as long as Abby is taken care of. We also have a fully set up home office if you need to use this while you stay. Abby does have some anxiety since her injury and small children and other dogs may not be the best option for her as she will try to keep up with them and will exhaust herself after a couple of days. She sleeps in her own bed/ crate at nighttime but would need to be in the room with whoever is staying as she is a typical dachshund and likes to be with people.
