About
A short term (approx 5 weeks) house sitting position is available in beautiful tourist popular Echuca. This is a small, self-contained accommodation business and seeking a caretaker/house sitter. Duties include reservations, meeting/farewelling guests, contact celaning staff when required, garden watering and walking my very friendly German Shepherd dog each day. I am contactable almost 24/7 (allowing for time difference to New Zealand - 2 hours) via email, whatsapp or phone and my local staff are also available. Office hours are 7-8am, 4-9pm leaving the day totally free to do as you wish. There is a renumeration for the additional duties. As this is a small (5 unit) self contained accommodation business and photo studio. The successful applicant would receive on-site training and a comprehensive manual. I will be would be contactable via email, phone, whatsapp 24/7. In addition to this, there are reliable contact persons in Echuca to assist in all matters. The property is centrally located within walking distance to the river, historic port and town centre. The glassed-in balconies overlook state forest catching the morning and winter sun. This position would suit an active single or retired couple in sunny northern Victoria who may wish to have a break and earn some re-numeration. This is a part time position only. The town has excellent facilities - sporting cultural, food, transport etc. Applicants must have 3 references, a police clearance, attend an interview and if successful a 3 day training period Thank you for your interest.
Pets & farm animals
The accommodation business is pet friendly with approximately 50% guests bringing their dog. The applicant is also permitted to bring their dog.
House Tasks
The focus is to continue running the accommodation business during the 5 weeks whilst the owner is away. Duties include; a) replying to accommodation enquiries either by phone or email (approx. 1 hour per day) b) managing accommodation inventories through a channel manager system c) where possible, greet guests upon arrival d) engage cleaners and maintenance staff when required. Emails are usually checked 3 times per day. The day (8am-5pm) is generally free to do as want.
