Come for a holiday in the picturesque town of Trentham, just an hour and a half drive from Melbourne! We have a sweet little one bedroom house that would suit one person or a couple. We're a 2 minute walk from the main street, which boasts a supermarket, good cafes, two great pubs and a the historic red beard bakery. Walk locally on the domino trail, enjoy the local lake or drive into Blackwood 15 mins away for bushwalking mineral springs and paddling in the Lerdedurg river. Our house is compact, cute and cozy (despite being in need a of a little love and care - we bought it quite recently). There's a wood heater if you happen to be there on a chilly night and air con if you need it. We have a fully equipped kitchen - great for someone who loves to cook. We have two adorable cats: street-wise, one-eyed Charlotte and playful but shy Venus. They both love attention and company, but appreciate a gentle person who'll give them a bit of time to warm up. We would prefer a non-smoker who will take good care of our house and give the garden and pots a water when they need it.

Pets & farm animals

Our cat Charlotte is a lovely companion. She's fairly independent, but really enjoys company. She responds well to people to who give her the space to come to them. Venus is adorable and loving. We rescued her about 16 months ago. She still occasionally gets pretty frightened, and needs someone to sit with her quietly to bring her back. Ideally we'd like a house sitter who is home often, as the cats get sad and lonely when they're left alone daily. Both cats come in at night and are free to enjoy the garden during the day.

Tasks: Feed and take care of the cats. Water the garden. Collect the mail.
