We hope this stay may suit a retired couple who enjoy walking and exploring their surrounds accompanied by our 11 year old Golden Retriever who enjoys her daily walks. We live on a 20 acre property located just 2 km out of Lobethal, and adjacent to the Bushland Park forest reserve which has delightful walking trails and a lake in its centre. Our two-storey house overlooks a rambling 5 acre garden with a dam and above-ground salt water swimming pool. Native animals and abundant birdlife can be seen enjoying the gardens, and the house has extensive views over Kenton Valley. A slow combustion stove keeps the house cosy in winter and split system reverse cycle airconditioning cools the house on the hot days. An open fire in the lounge provides romantic ambience when the mood strikes to sprawl out with a glass or two of fine SA red. There is also an open fireplace in the fully screened pergola which provides opportunities for winter barbecues with a difference. Lobethal Bakery has fantastic coffee, sweet treats and a range of delicious breads. There is also an outstanding coffee shop and a Foodland. The Lobethal Bierhaus is also well worth a visit for a meal or just a sociable drink; it is open Friday through Sunday, with wood oven pizzas available from Thursday night. Adelaide Hills is becoming a wine destination in its own right, and there are many Hills wineries within easy reach; Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale are also less than an hour away.
Pets & farm animals
We have a very loving but still energetic 11 year old Golden Retriever who loves her daily walks and a game of tug-of-war. And a cuddle on the couch if you don’t mind a bit of hair ...
House Tasks
The only other essential task is putting the wheelie bins out to the kerb on a Sunday night.
